This excellent night fighter could have become a dangerous weapon against Allied bombers that attacked the Third Reich under the cover of darkness. Fortunately for them, rulers of Nazi Germany were more interested in insisting on their own ideas and reaching high posts in the hierarchy. Heinkel and his aircraft were sacrificed at the altar of political scheming and personal envy."
